Title: MR. FOOD’S MINT CREAM PIE

Yield: 10 servings
6 c Mini marshmallows
1/4 c Milk
1/3 c Creme de menthe
1 ts Vanilla extract
3 dr Green food color <3 or 4>
8 oz Whipped cream
1 Choc. ready pie crust
Combine marshmallows and milk. Cook and stir over low heat until melted.
Remove from heat, cool, stirring every few minutes until partially set.
Stir in liquer, vanilla and food coloring. Fold in whipped cream and pour
into crust.
Freeze until firm.
Before serving, let stand for 10 mins at room temp and garnish with grated
chocolate.

Title: Savory Swiss Steak

Yield: 6 Servings
1 1/2 lb Round steak
1/4 c Flour
2 ts Dry mustard
1 ts Salt
1/4 ts Pepper
2 tb Butter
2 tb Oil
1 Onion, finely chopped
2 Carrots, peeled and grated
2 Stalks celery,finely chopped
1 cn (16 oz) tomatoes
2 tb Worcestershire sauce
1 tb Brown sugar
Cut steak into 6 serving-size portions. Coat with a mixture of flour,
mustard, salt and pepper. Using a large frying pan, brown meat in half the
butter and oil. Transfer to crockpot. Heat remaining butter and oil in
frying pan. Saute onions, carrots and celery until glazed. Add tomatoes,
Worcestershire and brown sugar. Heat, scraping up drippings. Pour over
meat. Cover. Cook on low, 6 to 8 hours, or until tender. Serve meat with
sauce spooned over. Sprinkle with parsley. Source: The Crockery Pot

Title: Sour Cream Apple Pie

Yield: 1 pie
5 lg Tart apples
1 Pastry-lined 9″ pie pan
1 tb Lemon juice
3/4 c C and H Granulated Sugar
1/3 c Flour
1/4 ts Salt
1 ts Cinnamon
1/4 ts Nutmeg
1/4 c Butter or margarine
1/2 c Dairy sour cream
Peel and cut apples into thick slices. Arrange slices in overlapping rows
in pastry-lined pie pan; sprinkle with lemon juice. Mix sugar, flour,
salt, cinnamon and nutmeg; cut in butter until crumbly; spoon over apples.
Spread sour cream over top. Bake in 350 F oven 50 to 55 minutes until
apples are tender.

Title: Fido’s Reward!

3/4 c Hot Water or Meat Juices
1/2 c Powdered Milk
1 Egg, Beaten
1/3 c Margerine
1/2 tb Salt (optional)
3 c Whole Wheat Flour
Servings: 10
In a large bowl pour hot water over margerine. Stir in powdered milk, salt
and egg. Add flour 1/2 cup at a time mixing well after each addition. Knead
3 to 4 minutes, adding more flour if necessary to make a very stiff dough.
Pat or roll to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into bone shapes. Place on a
greased baking sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes. Allow to cool
and dry out until hard. Makes approximately 1 1/4 pounds. Costs
approximately $.25 per pound.

Red, White, and Blue/Black Casserole
(Eggplant casserole with tomato and cheese)
Cut the eggplant lengthwise once, then slice crosswise into semidisks
about 3/4 inch thick.
In a shallow casserole dish (2 in deep), stand some slices of eggplant
on the narrow cut edge, to make a row, then fol- low this with slices
of tomato, then slices of mozzarella cheese. Repeat until the whole
dish is full. It should appear from the top to have bands of red,
white, and black.
Use your favorite seasoning (basil/oregano is the default), and bake
until bubbly (about 25-30 minutes at 350 deg. F.

10.5 oz each
3 Soup cans water
Grated Parmesan cheese
1. In a heat-resistant, non-metallic soup tureen or a
deep, 3- quart, heat-resistant, non-metallic
casserole, combine condensed soup and water. 2. Heat,
covered, in Microwave Oven 8 to 10 minutes or until
heated through.
3. Soup can also be prepared in individual mugs.
Divide condensed soup and water evenly among mugs.
4. Heat, covered with clear plastic wrap, in Microwave
Oven according to the
following chart:

5. Garnish soup with a sprinkling of grated Parmesan

WHITE TURNIP SOUP (POTAGE AUX NAVETS BLANCS)

1 tb Butter
8 sm Turnips (1 1/2lb), peeled,
-coarsely chopped
1 lg Onion, coarsely chopped
6 c To 8 cups boiling water
4 sl To 5 sl good-quality white
Bread, i.e, French, peasant
2 ts Salt, if desired
1/2 ts Freshly ground black pepper
4 Egg yolks
1 c Cream
1/2 c Parsley or chives, chopped
Melt butter in a medium kettle and add chopped turnips
and onions. Saute over medium heat for about 5 minutes
or until onions are translucent. Stir frequently.
Bring 6 to 8 cups water to the boil–the amount
depending on how much soup you wish to make, as well
as its desired strength. Pour the boiling water into
the turnip/onion mixture. Break the bread slices into
the kettle. Heat the soup to the boil; reduce heat and
simmer for aout 15 minutes or until turnips are tender
when pierced with a fork. Set the soup aside to cool.
Season with salt, if desired, and pepper. When the
soup has cooled sufficiently, four into a food
processor or blender or press through a sieve with a
wooden spoon. Note: At this point the soup can be
refrigerated for a day or two, or frozen for several
weeks. Later the egg, cream and garnish will be added.
Before serving, reheat the soup–but do not boil–and
add the egg yolks beaten with the cream. Stir
constantly until the mixture is blended and creamy.
Check seasoning. Serve in heated soup bowls and
garnish with parsley or chives.

1 Jar Heinz Chili Sauce
Red Wine Vinegar
1-1/2 tablespoons white wine Worchestershire sauce
1-1/2 (generous) tablespoons sweet pickle relish
3 large fresh garlic
2/3 quart mayonnaise
1 tablespoon sugar
Empty chili sauce in bowl. Fill empty jar 1/4 full with wine vinegar.
Put cap on and shake well. Empty into bowl. Add Worchestershire sauce.
Add pickle relish. Add fresh cloves of garlic pressed. Add mayonnaise
and sugar. Use whisk to blend well. Refrigerate.
